The long construction works of the port of Ho-Ping (Taiwan) development have been concluded with the successful launch of Transas VTS system there. The project has been implemented by Transas Marine Pacific in cooperation with their Taiwanese agent, Seven Seas Electronic. The new VTS system in Ho-Ping gives significant advantages to the industrial port as it makes it compliant with the VTS IMO/IALA regulations, improves port management system and essentially increases navigational safety in the area. Ho-Ping VTS incorporates two Bridge Master E radars (X- and S-band) in hot-stand configuration with full remote control/diagnostics and radar data processing provided by dedicated Transas VTS ORS-3 radar processor, dual-display Operator Station, as well as VTS Information System with user terminal and advanced recording facility. The Operator Station configuration allows adjusting multiple user layouts of traffic display on one screen and reviewing the alphanumeric information in the tabular form on another screen. The full access to the VTS Information System (Database on vessels, Electronic Logbook with logging automation and Visit management) is also available from the Operator station allowing database correlation with traffic management. The advanced recording facility provides all sensor and system data recording as well as four VHF radio stations voice data, all in digital form for the time up to one month. The recorded data can be scanned by Playback application for the particular fragment with the reference to vessel name/MMSI/Call sign, or by time attribute. During the replay, all traffic and other related information appears on the screen exactly as it was showed in the real-time on the Operator station displays. All the hardware components of the system, including ergonomic operator console, radar sensors, VHF radio stations and all auxiliary equipment and cabling, were supplied and installed by Seven Seas Electronics Co Ltd, Transas agent in Taiwan. The completion of the installation has been fixed by signing the Commissioning Test Protocol stating that all the functionality required by the customer is fully available within the system. High level of technical expertise of Transas specialists and their close cooperation with Transas local distribution network made a lot for the successful accomplishment of the project.
