Helm to Launch Subchapter M Compliance Software
Helm has been selling its Compliance software since Sub M came into effect in the summer of 2016. However this is the first industry specific event for towing vessel operators where Helm will be able to showcase its ground-breaking software. Rodger Banister, VP of Marketing at Helm is excited about being able to demonstrate the flexibility of Helm’s software to a wide audience at IWS. “This year at IWS we will be showing off the power of mobility in Helm CONNECT,” said Banister, who added that visitors to Helm’s booth will be able to see how easily crew can use a tablet to review and complete all of their assigned corrective actions, report near misses, review documents and more through Helm CONNECT.
Helm will be showcasing its software alongside Safety Management Systems LLC and ClassNK America under the banner of Sub M Group. The Sub M Group was assembled to be a one-stop shop for all towing vessel operators’ Subchapter M needs.
The International Workboat Show caps off an incredible year for Helm, which has signed over 50 new customers onto its new software platform including several industry leading, large fleet operators. Banister feels that this is just the beginning for Helm. “Currently there are over 25 percent of AWO member vessels using Helm software,” says Banister, who claims the majority of those member companies are currently using Helm’s Maintenance software. With the launch of Helm CONNECT Compliance and the advent of Subchapter M, Banister believes Helm will be signing on more towing vessel operators.
