Samuel Lim, President of SONAME, said his organization has purchased millions of pesos of software to share with educational institutions wishing to train more professionals in this discipline.

SONAME has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies and hopes for other academic institutions to also offer this training.
