Port of Rotterdam is set to welcome Heerema's Sleipnir, the world's largest semi-submersible crane vessel, which is set to arrive at the port on Saturday, March 21, where it will be made ready for a North Sea decommissioning project.Named after the Norse God Odin's eight-legged stallion, the vessel stands at 220 meters long, 102 meters wide, can accommodate 400 employees, and weighs 119,000 tons and is the first such unit powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

MAN Energy Solutions has won the order to supply the engines for a newbuild shuttle ferry for Estonian shipping company Tallink Grupp. A diesel-electric plant comprising five MAN 51/60DF dual-fuel main engines – with liquefied natural gas (LNG) as primary fuel – will power the MyStar, which Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) will construct at its yard in Finland. Delivery to the customer is scheduled for early 2022.

The Korean Register has granted approval in principle (AIP) to verify the suitability of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual fuel propulsion car carrier developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). The AIP covers two pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) vessels with a respective capacity of 7,000 car equivalent units (CEU) and 8,100 CEU.Both vessels are equipped with International Maritime Organization (IMO) type C tanks which are independent self-supporting LNG fuel tanks.
