Ship managers Synergy Group converted a 1992-built, 126,000 cubic meters capacity Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carrier into a Floating Storage Unit (FSU). The conversion was performed at Sembcorp Marineâs Admiralty Yard in Singapore.Synergy will manage, maintain and operate the FSU, which has a projected lifespan of 15 years. Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. completed installation of the first unit of an LNG (liquefied natural gas) fuel gas supply system (FGSS) for marine dual fuel engines, delivered in November last year, on the pure car carrier (PCC) built by Shin Kurushima Toyohashi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. The first LNG-fueled PCC built in Japan was delivered to Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha on October 28, 2020, and has entered service.

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has developed a Digital Health Management system (DHM) for safety and operational efficiency of IMO Type-B LNG fuel tanks, and this new industry-first system has achieved Approval in Principal (AIP) of its âDigital Twin READYâ Type-B LNG fuel tanks.This AIP was achieved through cooperation with the Liberian Registry (LISCR) as Flag State, and Lloyds Register (LR) as Class Society through JDP.

Ship classification society Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has classed Indiaâs first LNG-FSRU.Built at Hyundai Shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea, the 180,000 cu.m, the Indian-flagged, is designed for continuous operations without the need for drydocking over a period of 20 years.
