Tenneco SCR System Receives ABS PDA Certificate
Tenneco has been awarded three product design assessment (PDA) certificates from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for its new selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system for large engines. The PDA certificates cover key components of the system, including the complete dosing and control system, injectors, load sensors and the human machine interface (HMI) remote monitor, as well as catalyst and reactor hardware configurations for both EPA and IMO applications.

ABS to Class Maersk's Mega Ships
Maritime shipping and offshore classification services provider ABS has been selected to class 11 newbuild ultra-large containerships (ULCs) for Maersk Line A/S of Denmark, the classification society announced today. At 19,630 TEU, Maersk’s second generation of Triple-E containerships will larger than the first, and were ordered from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of South Korea last month in a deal that includes options to build up to six additional vessels.
Firefighting Vessel Delivered to the US Army
New Orleans based maritime solutions company Technology Associates, Inc. (TAI) informs it has completed its contract for the design and construction of a fast response firefighting vessel delivered to the U.S. Army, in support of U.S. Military Surface Deployment Distribution Command (SDDC) 596th Transportation Brigade (TB), on June 12, 2015. The all-aluminum fast response firefighting vessel, named Port Chicago, measures 75 ft length overall, 20 ft beam, and 10 ft deep.

Harvey Gulf Acquires Shipbuilding Assets
Harvey Gulf International Marine (HGIM) is launching a new affiliate, Harvey Shipyard Group, to manage its shipbuilding assets, the company announced today. Harvey Shipyard Group is acquiring Gulf Coast Shipyard (Gulfport, Miss.) and Trinity Yachts (New Orleans, La.). HGIM Chairman and CEO Shane J. HGIM said it intends to work with its affiliates to catapult the Gulf Coast Shipyard, which constructed the nation’s first LNG OSVs for the offshore market, in addition to tank and hot oil barges.

ABS to Class Newbuild Semisubmersible, Liftboat
Baoham Offshore (HK) Ltd. has selected ABS to provide classification services for newbuilds in China. ABS, a provider of marine and offshore classification services, has been selected by Baoham Offshore (HK) Ltd. to class a drilling semisubmersible and a liftboat. "This award is a reflection of the solid reputation ABS has built as a classification society over more than 30 years in China," said ABS Executive Vice President of Energy Project Development Ken Richardson.
Crew Supply Vessel Delivered in Louisiana
Lady Tierney, a 205-foot monohull DP-2 crew supply vessel, has been delivered for Sea Supply, Inc., a B&J Martin Inc. subsidiary, of Galliano, Louisiana. With design expertise from Incat Crowther’s Lafayette, La. office, combined with concept design and standards from the Morgan City, La. based Halimar Shipyard and the vessel owner, the ABS-classed, USCG-certified vessel will work in the Gulf of Mexico’s deep water offshore industry.
