Singapore-based tonnage provider Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) said on Tuesday it has entered into an agreement with mining and metal producer Rio Tinto to charter three newly built liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fueled Newcastlemax bulk carriers, with an option for three more.The 210,000 DWT ships will be built in China at New Times Shipbuilding and are scheduled for delivery starting from the second half of 2023.EPS CEOâŠ

DNV has granted an Approval In Principle (AIP) to PASSER Marine for the development of a new LNG fuel tank insulation system.The new concept is designed for prismatic âtype Bâ LNG tanks - which according to IMO rules require a partial secondary barrier - and includes a leakage detection system capable of safely managing and containing fuel leaks."The system we have developed is cost-effective and production-friendly,â said Svein Konradsen, COO of PASSER Marine AS.
Titan LNG to Build New Bunkering Barge

The Netherlands-based marine fuel supplier Titan LNG launched a tender for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering barge to service the Zeebrugge and English Channel regions. The first delivery is expected to be fulfilled in 2023.The 4,200 cubic meter capacity vessel, to be named Krios, was designed by HB Hunte Engineering. It will operate with multiple tanks to segregate streams of LNG and bio-LNG, the sustainable carbon neutral fuel produced from biological waste streams.

CMA CGM Orders 22 New Vessels from CSSC

French container shipping company the CMA CGM Group announced on Friday it has ordered 22 vessels from Chinese shipyard CSSC Group expected to be delivered in 2023 and 2024. The value of the order was not disclosed.The shipbuilding contract, which comes amid strong market growth in the container shipping sector, includes 12 ships powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and 10 to run on very low sulfur fuel oil (VLSFO), CMA CGM said.

Greece-based Latsco LNG Marine Management has signed a five-year maintenance agreement with Wärtsilä covering the main engines for two large liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, the Hellas Diana and the Hellas Athina.The deal signed in March 2021 covers two new vessels built at the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) yard in South Korea. They are 297 meters in length and have a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters.

Novatek, Russia's largest producer of liquefied natural gas (LNG), plans to use LNG-fueled bunkering vessels at is hubs to comply with stricter environmental regulations, the company said on Monday.Novatek is building LNG transhipment hubs in Murmansk, in North Western Russia, as well as in the Pacific peninsula of Kamchatka.Bunkering vessels are usually fueled by fuel oil-based blends.
