New Multi-mission Patrol Boat for Montauk, NY
A new 38-foot multi-mission patrol boat for Montauk, N.Y. will be officially dedicated during a âsplash downâ ceremony on July 26. Delivered by aluminum boat builder Silver Ships, Inc., the vessel is a multi-agency, multi-mission vessel designed for emergency response and patrol within the Montauk Harbor. The vessel was garnered through the collaborative efforts of the Montauk Fire Department, the East Hampton Town Police Department, East Hampton Town Marine Patrol and the U.S.

Colombia Moves to Salvage Treasure from Spanish Shipwreck
Colombia is making progress towards salvaging a Spanish galleon carrying jewels and coins that sank more than 300 years ago, President Juan Manuel Santos said on Wednesday after receiving a proposal from an investor to bring it to the surface. The ship named San Jose, thought by historians to be carrying one of the largest unsalvaged maritime treasures, sank in 1708 near the historical Caribbean port of Cartagena, and its wreckage was located in 2015.
MacGregor Bags Equipment Order for German Research Vessel
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract to supply oceanographic winches and Triplex deck handling systems to a new research vessel being built by the Fassmer shipyard in Berne, Germany. The order was booked into Cargotec's second quarter 2017 order intake. MacGregor equipment deliveries are planned for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2019.
