US Firm Gets Go-ahead to Resume MH370 Search
Malaysia will allow a U.S.-based exploration firm to resume the search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, an airline support group told families of the victims on Friday, in a bid to solve one of the worldâs greatest aviation mysteries. Flight MH370, carrying 239 people, disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March 2014. Australia, China and Malaysia ended a fruitless search in January last year.
Coast Guard Searching for Missing Aircraft in GoM
The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for an unresponsive aircraft that went missing in the Gulf of Mexico approximately 118 nautical miles north of the Yucatan Peninsula, Thursday. The Coast Guard said its watchstanders at the Eighth District command center in New Orleans received a report from the North American Aerospace Defense Command, Wednesday evening that one person aboard a privately owned Cirrus plane was unresponsive likely due to hypoxia.

Ten Crew Missing as Cargo Ship Sinks off Shanghai
Ten crew members were missing after a cargo vessel collided with another vessel in Wusongkou anchorage at Shanghai, Chinaâs state-owned Xinhua News Agency reported, citing the Shanghai Maritime Search and Rescue Centre. Philippine Ferry Capsizes with 251 Aboard
Four people were killed and seven were missing after a Philippine ferry with 251 people on board capsized during bad weather on Thursday near the capital, Manila, disaster officials and a coastguard spokesman said. Accidents involving boats sailing between the many islands of the Philippines are common. Vessels are often overloaded but the coastguard said that was not the case on Thursday and the ferry had the capacity to carry 286 people.

A U.S. Navy warship came to the aid of an Iranian vessel stranded in rough waters in the Arabian Sea. A helicopter crew conducting routine flight operations from Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88) spotted the dhow approximately 60 nautical miles from land. âThe distressed mariners were seen waving their hands over their head in an effort to get the attention of our pilots,â said Cmdr. Damen Delivers Dredger in Finland
Damen has delivered a Cutter Suction Dredger 450 to Vesirakennus Ojanen Oy in Finland. This is the first time a Damen Cutter Suction Dredger has been deployed in the Scandinavian market.
