STX Europe to Build LNG Powered PSV for Solstad

STX Europe has been awarded a contract with Solstad Rederi AS to build an innovative LNG-powered Platform Supply Vessel (PSV). The vessel is of STX Europe PSV 12 LNG design. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in Q4 2011. The value of the contract is approximately $67.5m. Roy Reite, President of STX Europe's Offshore & Specialized Vessels business area, said: "Today's order confirms our strong position in design and building of environmentally friendly vessels.

Alnmaritec Limited announced recently that it has supplied two new fast patrol boats for duty at an LNG export terminal in the Yemen. The two new boats will join three other Alnmaritec boats which are already operating at the terminal providing line handling and pilot services. The new Wave Protector class patrol boats are 39 ft long by 10.5 ft wide and are powered by twin Cummins QSB 480bhp engines driving Ultrajet 305 water jets giving them a top speed of 38 knots.

TDW Offshore Completes Pipeline Pressure Isolation

TDW Offshore Services AS (TDW) has completed a key pipeline pressure isolation and joint testing operation offshore western Borneo in Malaysia for Sarawak Shell Berhad. TDW worked on platform F23P-A, which is part of the facilities operated by Sarawak Shell Berhad located 80 to 200 km from Miri and Bintulu. The operation was carried out on a gas export line that forms a portion of the line that runs from the F23P-A to the E11R-A platform.
Shell Floating LNG Technology, Greater Sunrise Project

Shell’s Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) technology has been selected as the Sunrise Joint Venture’s preferred option for developing the Greater Sunrise gas fields in the Timor Sea. Subject to final detailed agreements, government approvals and a final investment decision Shell will operate the FLNG facility and manage the design and build phases of the FLNG project for the Sunrise Joint Venture participants.

Colle Maritime Company, a joint venture between Signet Maritime Corporation and Colle Towing Company, has been awarded a twenty-year contract to provide marine support services to Angola LNG Supply Services (ALSS) in the Port of Pascagoula, Mississippi. The Signet/Colle joint venture will construct two RAstar 3100 Class Terminal Support/Escort Tugs to fulfill this important contract. The tugs, designed by Robert Allan Ltd. of Vancouver, BC, will each provide 80 metric tonnes of bollard pull.
