Harvey Gulf signs contracts to buld two additonal U.S. flag LNG-powerd vessels. Harvey Gulf International Marine ordered two additional 302’ X 64’, Dual Fuel Offshore Supply Vessels, bringing its total order to four. The contract signed today with Trinity Offshore is a follow on to the first two vessel order placed in October of 2011. Trinity will build all four vessels at their Gulfport, MS shipyard where the first Harvey Gulf LNG Powered Vessel hull fabrication was started last week.

DNV has developed a new pipeline concept, called X-Stream, that can significantly reduce the cost of a deep- and ultra-deepwater gas pipeline while still complying with the strictest safety and integrity regime. X-Stream is based on established and field-proven technologies which have been innovatively arranged. X-Stream can reduce both the pipeline wall thickness and time spent on welding and installation compared to deep-water gas pipelines currently in operation.

In a global economic climate which might merely be described as awkwardly viable, Trinity Yachts continues to set a remarkable pace in custom superyachts launched and delivered in 2011 with great expectations for launches and deliveries in 2012. In 2011, Trinity delivered the 191’ (58m) M/Y Carpe Diem and 164’ (50m) M/Y Falcon; and launched the 198’ (60m) M/Y Areti, 187’ (58m) M/Y Lady Linda, and the 242’ (73m) M/Y New Horizon. The latter three yachts will be delivered in 2012.

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has signed a contract to deliver highly efficient engines and propulsion systems for the world’s first Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) powered tugs. The two vessels have been ordered by Norwegian company Buksér og Berging AS and will enter service in late 2013 for Statoil, the international energy company, and Gassco, the operator of the gas transportation network off the Norwegian coast.

Hyundai Heavy Industries, the world’s biggest shipbuilder and offshore facilities contractor announced today that the Company completed developing its own Hyundai FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas Plant) model in association with Linde AG, an international industrial gases and engineering company of Germany. The Hyundai FLNG has an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tons of LNG and can store about 193,800 m3 LNG with its compact size of 355 m in length, 70 m width and 35 m in height.
