The motorized barge 'Argonon' owned by Deen Shipping, was fuelled-up from a truck in the Port of Antwerp, Belgium. This operation represents a further significant step towards more environment-friendly shipping in the port of Antwerp. Antwerp Port Authority continues to lend support to those seeking to switch to this more environment-friendly fuel, and so to make the logistics chain yet more sustainable.

Construction begins of First "Sayaendo" New-generation LNG CarrierAt Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works For Osaka Gas and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) began construction of the first ship in its "Sayaendo" Series, which it has developed as a new-generation liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, at the company's Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works. The LNG carrier is one of two ships ordered jointly by Osaka Gas Co., Ltd., and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.
New Giant LNG Carrier Will Look Different

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries commences "Sayaendo", a distinctive-looking LNG carrier at Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works. The Sayaendo Series has a hull shape that evolved from LNG carriers with Moss-type hemispherical tanks, (and it offers significant improvements in fuel consumption and maintainability. The unit now being built is slated for delivery in the fiscal year 2014 (ending March 31, 2015).
Engine of the Future is Already Available
First commercial ME-GI engine revealed at major event in Korea. At a large customer event in Korea on 9 November 2012, Hyundai revealed the first, commercial MAN B&W ME-GI engine.

MAN Diesel & Turbo confirms its first order, from USA's TOTE Inc., for its low-speed, dual-fuel ME-GI engine. American shipping company, TOTE, has signed a contract with its compatriot shipyard NASSCO in San Diego for the construction of two new state-of-the-art containerships with an option for three more vessels for primarily domestic services. The vessels will each be powered by 8L70ME-GI dual-fuel gas-powered engines.
