Almarin Provides Navigational Aids for BIMEP
Almarin, manufacturers of Aids to Navigation (AtoN), has supplied the maritime beaconing for Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BIMEP) in Bizkaia, Spain. Almarin supplied seven G3000TL buoys with 11m3 hull volume, sufficient capacity to handle the sturdy moorings in 90m depth. Equipped with self contained beacons, radar reflectors and AIS systems (providing real time data for ships equipped with ECDIS), these buoys ensure that the perimeter of the BIMEP area is well marked.

Wärtsilä to Supply Propulsion for Six Offshore Brazil PLVs
Wärtsilä received a significant order to supply the propulsion solutions for six new offshore pipe laying vessels being built by IHC Merwede. Three of the ships are to be built for Subsea 7, the seabed-to-surface engineering, construction, and services contractor to the offshore energy industry. The other three vessels have been ordered by Seabras Sapura, the Sapura Kencana and Seadrill partnership entity.

Boskalis H1 2013 Results Pointing to Record Profit
In their half year 2013 report the Boskalis Board of Management expects that, barring unforeseen circumstances, net profit for the 2013 financial year will be at least EUR 330 million, including the book gain of approximately EUR 50 million on the sale of the 40% stake in Archirodon that will be accounted for in the second half of the year. Rig Too Big for Drydock: Dockwise Liftboat Fills the Bill
Royal Boskalis Westminster (Boskalis) subsidiary Dockwise was contracted to provide an alternative form of dry docking in the Mediterranean for a semi-submersible drilling rig too big to fit into any dry-dock in the region. It was realised that the company's Dockwise Vanguard was uniquely positioned for this type of large scale dry docking, not only the transportation of very large and heavy structures.
