ABB Wins Long-Term Service Agreement

Long-term service agreement improves lifecycle cost control and fleet reliability. ABB signed a long-term Preventive Service agreement with China LNG Shipping International Co. Ltd (CLSICO) to provide maintenance services to all ABB equipment onboard of its six LNG vessels in the next five years. The contract commenced January 1, 2013. The new service agreement will help CLSICO with optimized vessels performance at a predicted minimum level of budget.
Golden Pass Announce Agreement to Export Gas to U.K.
Golden Pass Products LLC (GPP) affiliates Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) and ExxonMobil signed a framework agreement for the proposed liquefaction project at the Sabine Pass, Texas terminal.
Keel Laid for World's First FLNG Project

Shell has laid the keel for 'Prelude FLNG', the world’s first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project. When complete, Prelude is expected to be the largest offshore floating facility ever built. The hull will now be assembled in the dry dock, before the turret and the topsides are fitted at Samsung Heavy Industries’ Geoje shipyard in South Korea. “This is a key milestone in Prelude’s story,” said Rob Kretzers, Shell Executive Vice President Projects.

Interlake Steamship moves toward upgrading its fleet to energy efficient, more environmentally friendly LNG fuel. The company has announced that it has reached an agreement in principle with Shell to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to support Interlake’s conversion of its vessels to LNG as the main propulsion fuel. When converted, these ships are expected to be the first LNG-powered ships on the Great Lakes and among the first in the U.S.

Harvey Gulf Invests $540 Million in LNG Vessels

Chief Executive Officer of Harvey Gulf International Marine, Shane Guidry announced the execution of three agreements for vessels totaling $540 million. These purchases will raise the total capital expenditures of Harvey Gulf to $1.7 billion since August of 2008. The first agreement is between Harvey Gulf International Marine and Eastern Shipbuilding Group for the construction of two STXCV 340’ x 73’ x 29.5’ Heavy Lift Construction Vessels.
