Marine design and engineering company Houlder announced the formation of an LNG project team in its London headquarters. Ian Meaden, Des Upcraft and Lijo Thomas joined the team this month to work exclusively on developing LNG projects in response to market requirements. The company said its new talent investment means it can build on its current LNG equipment projects to help with all aspects of marine design, engineering and project management from initial FEED study to implementation.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will participate in Kormarine 2013 in Busan, Republic of Korea, one of the largest international exhibitions of maritime industry. On 22-25 October the foremost exhibition of the maritime industry in Asia will gather leaders of shipbuilding industry. RS will undertake a scaled-up participation in this event. The first RS office opened in Korea in 1996 was originally oriented to render its assistance to ships in service in the first place.
Kalmar, Global Service to Develop Diesel-LNG Reachstacker

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has started a project, as the primary external industrial partner of the Greencranes pilot action, for the engineering and realization of a reachstacker prototype using dual fuel technology (diesel and liquefied natural gas, LNG). Kalmar signed a partnership agreement with its customer Global Service, the leader of the pilot. Global Service is located in Livorno, Italy and is a player in the equipment rental business in the country.
