Cavotec Wins Largest MoorMaster Order to Date

Cavotec has been awarded a âŹ10 million order for MoorMaster automated mooring units at a container port to be disclosed later in a joint press release with the customer. It is the largest single order to date for the technology, and further underlines the growing demand for Cavotec's automated mooring systems. Cavotec will design, manufacture and install MoorMaster systems for a port mooring container ships up to 13,000 TEU.
Pacific Rubiales and Gazprom Sign on EXMAR FLNG Project

EXMAR announced two keystone events in its Caribbean FLNG project. On November 5, Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (PRE) and Gazprom Marketing & Trade Ltd. (GM&T) announced the execution of a heads of agreement with respect to a five year sale and purchase agreement covering approximately 500,000 tons per year of liquefied natural gas (LNG) FOB Colombia (Caribbean Sea) commencing commercial operations in the second quarter of 2015.

Matson Signs Contract With Aker Philadelphia Shipyard For Two New "Aloha Class" Containerships, First Ship To Be Named The Daniel K. Inouye. Matson, Inc., a U.S. carrier in the Pacific, announced today that its subsidiary, Matson Navigation Company, Inc., has signed a contract with Aker Philadelphia Shipyard Inc. (APSI) to build two new 3,600 TEU containerships for an aggregate price of $418 million.

Alewijnse Marine Systems celebrated their involvement in the success of the award-winning 'LNG Greenstream' waterway tankship at the recent 16th KNVTS Maritime Awards Gala held in The Netherlands. Alewijnse say that the 110m 'Greenstream' is the first commercial inland vessel to use LNGâelectric propulsion. The vessel was built by Peters Shipyards, Kampen, and Alewijnse was responsible for the entire electrical installation on boardâŚ
Bureau Veritas Boosts Dutch Maritime Innovation

International classification society Bureau Veritas said it is boosting innovation and sustainability in partnership with Dutch owners, builders and designers. Jan Smit, Senior Vice President and head of the North Europe & North America Zone of BVâs Marine & Offshore Division, said, âBV was founded in the Low Countries and is a core part of the Dutch maritime industry which is pushing ahead with innovative designs focusing on operational excellence and energy efficiency.

Kongsberg Awarded Several New Asian Projects

Kongsberg Maritime was recently awarded separate contracts with three major shipyards in Asia for major technology deliveries to specialist offshore vessels. Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in Korea, and Cosco Shipyard in China have each selected Kongsberg âFull Pictureâ solutions for, in total, nine advanced Offshore Drilling Units, an Accommodation Unit, a Multipurpose Construction Vessel and four LNG vessels with Integrated Automation Systems.

A partnership including Calgary-based Ferus Natural Gas Fuels has unveilled plans to build in Florida the first U.S. terminal to supply liquefied natural gas as fuel for cargo ships, reports 'The Calgary Herald'. The Eagle LNG partnership was announced in September 2013, and includes Ferus, General Electric Co. and Clean Energy Fuels Corp., the transportation-fuel company co-founded by billionare investor T. Boone Pickens; all three are equal equity partners in the project.

Air Products Nitrogen Membrane Generator

Norwegian-based Air Products was selected by Harvey Gulf International Marine to supply Nitrogen Membrane Generators for the six newly ordered LNG fueled PSVs to be built at Trinity Offshore. The NC 1.1 series cabinet model consists of a complete N2 Generator, a control panel and a feed air pretreatment with a PLC control. The Nitrogen Membrane System is approved by all international marine standards.
First German LNG Ferry to be Constructed by Fassmer

Fassmer Shipyard has been commissioned to design and build the new dual-fuelled Heligoland ferry for Cassen Eils â the first new building under the German flag â equipped with environmentally friendly LNG propulsion that will enable conformity to forthcoming emission control regulations. The nearly 80-meter-long vessel builds on proven features of Helgoland ships operated by Cassen Eils GmbH, and will have a speed of 20 knots.

Indian company ONGC Videsh Ltd. is interested in exploring for hydrocarbon deposits in the Arctic in cooperation with leading Russian companies, reports 'Arctic info' (Russian). The announcement came in a joint statement adopted at the XIV Russian-Indian Summit, where talks were held by Russiaâs President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The partner of the Indian company could be Rosneft, suggests Arctic info.
