Gazprom inform that Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Ben van Beurden, Chief Executive Officer of Shell, met in Sochi and signed a document that that envisages the preparation of FEED documentation for the third LNG production train within the Sakhalin II project. âThe global LNG market is booming â primarily in Asian countries. Latest Global Deep-Sea Shipbuilding Orders
Sinotrans Shipping have signed contracts for two firm 78,000 DWT Panamax at Jiangnan Shipyard. This order is understood by Clarkson Hellas to have been under discussion for some time, and commits two remaining slots within end 2015 basis the yardâs existing Panamax design. It has also been reported that the same owner has ordered four firm 64,000 DWT Ultramax at Chengxi Shipyard for delivery within 2016, with the deal having been concluded just prior to the Lunar New Year.

Hyundai Heavy Names First Newbuild LNG FSRU
Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) held a naming ceremony for the worldâs first newbuilding LNG floating storage regasification unit (LNG FSRU), ordered from Höegh LNG in June 2011. The 170,000 cbm LNG FSRU, measuring 294 meters in length, 46 meters in width and 26 meters in depth with the storage capacity of 70,000 metric tons of chilled natural gas, will be chartered to Lithuaniaâs Klaipedos Nafta under a long-term contract.
Erik Thun Orders LNG Cargo Ship
Swedish shipping company Erik Thun A.B. has granted Shipyard Ferus Smit the order for building an LNG powered cargo vessel, with two more units on option. The first vessel will be delivered in autumn 2015 from the yard in Westerbroek, Groningen. The Thun shipping company has a strong market position in Northern Europe and the Baltic area. Floating Production Market Forecast
Today, 319 oil/gas floating production units are now in service, on order or available for reuse on another field. FPSOs account for 65% of the existing systems, 74% of systems on order. Another 25 floating LNG processing systems are in service or on order. Liquefaction floaters account for 12%, regasification floaters 88%. No liquefaction floaters are yet in service â all three are on order. In addition, 101 floating storage units are in service, on order or available.

Wärtsilä Get Repeat Siem Offshore Dual-fuel PSV Orders
Siem Offshore has again contracted Wärtsilä to supply the design and integrated solutions for four new platform supply vessels (PSVs) to be built at the Remontowa Shipbuilding yard in Poland. The four new vessels, like the two currently under construction, will utilise the Wärtsilä VS 4411 DF ship design and will have Wärtsilä dual-fuel propulsion allowing them to operate primarily on liquefied natural gas (LNG).
LNG Tugboat Re-Fuels in Zeebrugge, Belgium
Claimed by the Port of Zeebrugge to be the world's first LNG fuelled tugboat, the M/T Borgoy was refuelled recently in the Belgian coastal port in a tanker truck to ship (TTS) operation. The Port informs that this tugboat emits nearly 30 percent less CO2 and up to 90 percent less NOx and fine dust than conventionally-powered tugs. She is the first of two identical tug boats ordered by the Norwegian BUBE (Buksér og Berging AS) and was constructed in the Sanmar shipyard in Turkey.
EXMAR Sell Two Gas Carriers In Fleet Renewal Program
EXMAR LPG (the Joint Venture between EXMAR and Teekay LNG PARTNERS) announce sale of the Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) FLANDERS HARMONY (85,826 m3 - 1993 built) and the Midsize Gas Carrier TEMSE (35,754 m3 - 1994 built). TEMSE is expected to be delivered to its new owners by the end of the first quarter 2014 and FLANDERS HARMONY in the course of the second quarter 2014. The capital gain realized by EXMAR for its 50% share in EXMAR LPG will be approximately USD 10.4 million.

Louisiana LNG Project Gets Important Non-FTA Export Approval
Cameron LNG, one of the most advanced US LNG export projects, (promoted by GDF SUEZ as a shareholder and a capacity holder), has been granted conditional non-Free Trade Agreement (FTA) approval from the US Department of Energy (DOE). The Non-FTA agreement will enable GDF SUEZ to export LNG from the Cameron LNG project, in Louisiana, into countries that have not signed a FTA with the USA. GDF Suez inform that the project received FTA approval in January 2012.
