Asia's First LNG Powered Tugs Ordered
Rolls-Royce announced that it has won an order from Chinese state oil company CNOOC, to power Asiaâs first gas powered tug. The order is for two tugs to be built at the Zhenjiang shipyard in Jiangsu, China, with an option for an additional two. The first tug is planned for delivery by the end of this year. Each tug features a pair of Rolls-Royce Bergen C26:33L9PG engines fueled purely by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Korea Shipyard to Build Icebreaking LNG Carrier
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has won the first battle in the war among the shipbuilders to obtain orders for vessels to participate in the Russian Arctic 'Yamal Project' by getting the worldâs first order for an icebreaking LNG carrier, reports BusinessKorea. The South Korean shipbuilder informed BusinessKorea that it received the order worth US$367.4 million from Russiaâs state-run shipper Sovcomflot, and will deliver the vessel by the end of June 2016.

The Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) said its dedication to pursuing the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental protection led them to joining the Green Award scheme as an incentive provider for seagoing ships. From 2014, oil, product and chemical tankers, LNG and, after a launch of the certification program later this year, LPG carriers, that hold the Green Award certificate are eligible for a 3% reduction in port fees when calling at the port of Hamburg.
ABS Report Addresses LNG Bunkering Regulation

Floating Production Inventory Continues to Grow
The number of floating production systems continues to grow; 349 floating production units are now in service, on order or off-field/being remarketed. This inventory is 5% higher than a year ago, 27% higher than five years ago. Current Inventory: Of the total, 320 units are used for oil/gas production. Included in this figure are 211 FPSOs. They are the most common type system, comprising 65% of the existing systems and 72% of the systems on order.
