Sanmar Starts Construction at New Shipyard
Sanmar AS, a tugboat operator and builder in Turkey, has invested in another shipyard. The new shipyard is located in Altinova, where construction has already begun on several vessels. When totally completed, the new shipyard will be approximately 50,000m2 in total, of which 26,000m2 will comprise a covered and closed production area. Sanmar informs that the infrastructure is being designed to ensure maximum standards of health and safety, also respecting the needs of the environment.

Two Mooring Tugs Delivered to NSW
Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ) has delivered two new Qatari-built mooring tugs to towage operator Nakilat SvitzerWijsmuller (NSW). The delivery of the two ASD 2810 tugs is part of a seven-vessel order that the yard is currently working on for NSW. The first of the new tugs, named Umm Al Shubrum, completed sea trials in Ras Laffan in mid-January 2015. She was followed in February by the second vessel, Al Kharsaah. Both vessels will operate as part of Nakilat NSWâs growing fleet.
Gulf of Mexico Sees First LNG-powered OSV
A special Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) has been delivered to Shell for its deepwater operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The vessel, Harvey Energy, is chartered from Harvey Gulf International Marine and is the first of its kind in the region to run on both liquefied natural gas (LNG) and diesel. Built by the Gulf Coast Shipyard in Mississippi to meet requirements of the ABS âENVIRO+, Green Passportâ notation, the vessel is 302 feet long and operates on three dual-fuel Wärtsilä engines.
Bestobell Bags Hat Trick Order in China
Bestobell Marine, part of the President Engineering Group, has received its third order in the past 12 months from Hudong Zhonghua shipyard in China.
