Rolls-Royce has secured a contract with Keppel Shipyard in Singapore to supply two all-gas engines for power generation on-board a Floating Liquefaction Vessel (FLNGV) owned by Golar LNG Ltd. The vessel Hilli was a former LNG carrier and is being converted to a FLNGV carrier. Bergen B35:40V20AG is a compact and powerful gas engine with environmental performance in terms of low emissions of NOx, CO2, SOx and particulates.

Responding to the industry’s need for more guidance on procedures related to liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has published two new Policy Letters on LNG Bunkering, Personnel Training and Waterfront Facilities. The Damen Yichang Shipyard in China, commencing operations in 1999 as a joint venture between Damen Shipyards Group and Sinotrans CSC, has delivered cargo vessels from the Damen portfolio. Now, Damen announces the yard is rolling out an increased portfolio of vessels to a wider market audience. “Over the years we have achieved a good reputation for delivery time, reliability and quality,” said Executive Director at Damen Shipyards Group Hans Voorneveld about the yard on the Yangtze River.

ABB has won an order to deliver complete electric power plant, electrical propulsion systems and an energy management solution for Estonia-based Tallink Grupp´s new liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered fast ferry. The large-scale ferry will be built at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland for delivery in the beginning of 2017. The vessel will be about 212 meters in length with a gross tonnage of 49,000.
