Norwegian based offshore shipping company Eidesvik Offshore announced it has been awarded contract extensions for the supply vessels Viking Lady and Viking Athene from Total E&P on the Solaris well. The contract is in direct continuation with the current contract. Estimated duration is 45 days for the 2006-built Viking Athene and 150 days for the 2009-built LNG-powered Viking Lady, Eidesvik said.

Russian gas producer Novatek expects its Yamal LNG project to secure external financing in the next 2-3 months, Interfax news agency quoted Leonid Mikhelson, Novatek chief executive, as saying on Wednesday. Western sanctions imposed over Moscow's role in the Ukraine crisis have made it harder for Novatek to raise funds for the Yamal project, which is due to start producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2017. Norwegian Fish Food Carrier to Run on LNG

Rolls-Royce has signed a $6.5 million contract with Tersan Shipyard in Turkey to supply a liquefied natural gas (LNG) propulsion package for a cargo carrier designed by NSK Ship Design for Norwegian ship owner NSK Shipping. The vessel will deliver fish food on behalf of BioMar Group. The new cargo carrier will be a slightly larger sister ship to NSK Shippingâs MS Høydal which was the worldâs first LNG powered cargo vessel and which was delivered from Tersan Shipyard in 2012.
