Catamaran Capsizes Near Ocean City, Md.
The Coast Guard and two good Samaritans rescued two men and recovered two men Monday after the 28-foot catamaran the four boaters were on capsized near Ocean City, Md. A good Samaritan aboard the Lori M contacted Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads watchstanders at approximately 9 a.m., reporting a catamaran had capsized approximately 32 miles northeast of Ocean City with four people aboard. The Just Right Five rescued two men, both age 55, who were responsive.

USCG Cutter Damaged in Barge Allision
The Coast Guard is investigating an allision that occurred between an Alaska Marine Lines barge and the Coast Guard Cutter Sycamore in Cordova, Sunday. The Sycamore, a 225-foot seagoing buoy tender, was at its moorings when the allision occurred and suffered damage to its bow. There have been no reports of injuries or pollution at this time. The Sycamore, homeported in Cordova, conducts aids to navigation, search and rescue and law enforcement missions throughout Alaska.

The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans wished bon voyage to Canadian Coast Guard crew members and scientists aboard the CCGS 'Amundsen' who will participate in the 2013 research mission in the Canadian Arctic. "This year marks the 10th anniversary of the CCGS Amundsen, a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary research icebreaker," said Minister Shea.
