Huge New Northern Sea Route LNG Carrier Named
The new Russian-flag liquefied natural gas (LNG ) carrier was named 'Velikiy Novgorod' at the STX O&S shipyard in the city of Jinhae (South Korea) and becomes the fifth in Gazprom's tanker fleet. Gazprom explain that the Velikiy Novgorod is a gas carrier with membrane cargo tanks and a cargo capacity of 170.2 thousand cubic meters. It has dual-fuel diesel-electric propulsion, which can be powered by LNG, fuel oil or gasoil.

Russian LNG Carrier Launched
Sovcomflotās new state-of-the-art LNG carrier 'Velikiy Novgorod' launched from STX Offshore & Shipbuilding shipyard. The Velikiy Novgorod was ordered by OAO Sovcomflot for operations under a long-term agreement with Gazprom Global LNG (part of Gazprom) as the first of two vessels ordered by SCF from STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd and her construction is scheduled to be completed in December, 2013.
Navis Engineering Delivers DP System for Viking Grace
Finland-headquartered DP manufacturer Navis Engineering has delivered its dynamic positioning system for the innovative cruise ferry Viking Grace. The 214-m long Viking Grace, delivered to her owner Viking Lines by the Turku-located STX Europe shipyard on January 10, 2013, is said to be one of the most environmentally-friendly ships built. Arctic offshore vessel NB-506 Vitus Bering was delivered at Helsinki Shipyard on Friday 21.12.2012 to the client Sovcomflot, the largest shipping corporation in Russia. Arctech Starts Arctic Offshore Vessel Assembly
The hull assembly of arctic offshore vessel NB 507 was started at the Keel Laying Ceremony at Helsinki Shipyard 3 July 2012. The ship is the sister vessel of NB 506 that was launched on Saturday 30 June. The offshore vessels are being built for Russian Shipping Company Sovcomflot and they will be delivered in spring 2013. The Keel laying at Helsinki Shipyard followed old traditions. The first block of 260 tonnes, that was set on the keel, has been manufactured and outfitted in Helsinki.
Arctic PSV Launched at Arctech Helsinki Shipyard
