USCG Researches New Offshore Patrol Cutter
The U.S. Coast Guard is continuing to conduct market research for the Offshore Patrol Cutter acquisition. The Coast Guard invites U. S. shipyards to participate in one on one meetings with the OPC Project (FAR 15.201(c)(4)). At this time, the Coast Guard is interested in meeting with U.S. shipyards that have the organic capability to construct a cutter of the OPC’s size and complexity. These meetings will be held in Washington, DC, and are tentatively planned to begin in mid-August. The Coast Guard will review various acquisition strategies under consideration for ship construction and review OPC top level requirements. U.S. Shipyards that previously participated in the May 2009 one-on-one meetings with the Coast Guard do not need to respond and will be automatically invited. Other U.S. shipyards that meet our criteria should indicate their interest and primary contact point by email to the Contracting Officer, Mr. Carl. McGill, at [email protected] prior to August 1, 2010.
