Norwegian Salmon Breeder Buys New Workboat

Shortly after the delivery of a ProZero 8m Full Cabin to Havkar Drift AS in Norway, another Norwegian fishfarmer has also purchased a vessel from Tuco Marine's ProZero workboat series.

The new ProZero 8m Full Cabin is equipped for, and will be used as, a fast and flexible workboat for fish farming and passenger transport. The boat has been delivered to Egil Kristoffersen after successful sea-trials at the ProZero yard, Tuco Marine in Faaborg, Denmark.

According to the builder, the boat has been designed and optimized to serve as a platform for passenger transport, but operations will also include repair and maintenance of equipment and structures, as well as other services in the fish farming industry. The boat was delivered to the customer through ProZero Norge AS

In addition to the spacious driver and control cabin, that has room for the full crew. The boat is equipped with well-organized working decks. The cabin protects the crew against the surrounding environment, enhances comfort and provides ideal work conditions for the operators. Powerful light projectors on the aft deck provide ample light when operations can’t benefit from the luxury of daylight.

The 8-meter ProZero vessel is delivered with a single inboard diesel engine and Z-drive. And comes with all needed certificates for operation to national regulations.

Jørn Arntun, Technical Manager in Egil Kristoffersen and Sønner AS states; “This vessel is to be used in areas that are very exposed to severe weather, and we have confirmed in the tests here in Faaborg that this is something the boat is very suitable for, in fact it has exceeded our expectations, the low fuel consumption is another plus for both operating economy and environmental impact, so we look forward to using the boat in daily operations.”

The 8-meter ProZero Full Cabin comes with full spec. including extra exterior steering, Robust handrails, and a well-designed bow access are important parts of the deck's layout, which also includes a raised aft deck that works as a full-beam work platform for the crew.
