Sperry Navigation Systems for 7 Bulk Carriers

Northrop Grumman Corporation has been awarded a contract by Peter Dohle Schiffahrts-KG to supply the Integrated Bridge Systems, including navigation, voyage data recorders and radio systems, to seven new bulk carrier ships.

Northrop Grumman's Sperry Marine business unit will supply the equipment to Jiangsu Hantong Shipyard in Nantong, Jiangsu, China. The full Integrated Bridge System package will include VisionMaster FT Radars, VisionMaster FT ECDIS, Magnetic Compass System, Echosounder, VoyageMaster G4 Voyage Data Recorder, Gyrocompass, GMDSS Radio, Autopilot and Steering Control System and Speed Logs.

"These new bulk carriers will be equipped with a broad array of the most advanced navigation and data systems commercially available today."

Deliveries for the 38,800 deadweight tonnage bulk carriers will take place between April 2015 and September 2016, with installations beginning during the second half of 2014. Based in Hamburg, Germany, Peter Dohle Schiffahrts-KG is a leading provider of shipping services worldwide.
