US’ First 100% Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powered Commercial Vessel Launched

The United States' first zero-emissions, hydrogen fuel cell-powered, electric-drive ferry has been launched and is gearing up for operational trials off the U.S. West Coast.Constructed by Bellingham, Wash. shipbuilder All American Marine, Inc. (AAM), SWITCH Maritime's 70-foot newbuild Sea Change will operate in the California Bay Area as the United States' first hydrogen fuel cell vessel, developed to demonstrate a pathway to commercialization for zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell marine technologies. AAM Takes Over Hydrogen Ferry New Build

All American Marine, Inc. (AAM) won a contract by SWITCH Maritime (SW/TCH) to complete the aluminum construction and outfitting of a 70-foot 84-passenger zero-emissions, hydrogen-powered, electric drive ferry that will operate in the California Bay Area (referred to as the ‘Water-Go-Round’ project).Prior to transfer to AAM, the project had begun at Bay Ship & Yacht shipyard in Alameda, Calif. where the aluminum hull and superstructure had been started. Laborde Holds Open House at New Facility

To celebrate its new location in San Antonio, Texas, Laborde Equipment Services (LES) opened its doors to customers and associates at an open house. The facility was overflowing as the company welcomed over 125 guests at the event. Participants were given a facility tour, while also learning more about LES and its extensive line of products and services available to the South Texas market. Laborde's senior staff, including Tracy Laborde, Brian Laborde, Doug Oehrlein, Joe Manning, Jr., Trace Laborde, and Marc Laborde, was also on hand to welcome customers.

Laborde Expands Sales & Service Network

Laborde Products added National Maintenance and Repair as a service and sales dealer. It supports the river and rail industries with facilities in Hartford, Illinois; Paducah, Kentucky; and Harahan, Louisiana. National Maintenance and Repair will provide sales and support for Laborde Products' Mitsubishi marine propulsion engines in all three locations. It will also provide sales and service for Laborde's packaged product division, Diesel America. Offering a wide range of diesel-powered equipment, including pumps, generators, pressure washers, barge pumps and other special diesel equipment, the line is powered with FPT (Fiat Powertrain Technologies), Yanmar, Mitsubishi and other quality products distributed by Laborde.

Boatswain’s Locker Distributes Fiat Powertrain

Fiat Powertrain Technologies of North America, Inc., (FPT NA), has expanded Louisiana-based distributor Laborde Products Inc.’s distribution territory to include Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico in addition to their current territory, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee. Laborde Products supplies FPT marine, power generation and industrial engines. FPT industrial engines are fitted with mechanical and electronic injection systems, and meet current and some future emissions standards. Laborde Powers Smith Maritime

Smith Maritime was contracted by a Nigerian company to deliver a 200' lift boat for oil field maintenance. Smith Maritime selected the 5,000 hp tug Rhea and 400' barge Atlanta Bridge for the voyage. The barge was equipped with pumps to allow for controlled sinking and recovery in order to float the lift boat on and off. But they ran into a hitch. Shortly before departing, Smith Maritime discovered the African port was unable to furnish power for the pumps. Within hours Smith Maritime received delivery of a 60 kW Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT, formerly Iveco) diesel generator from Laborde.

Iveco Motors, Now FPT of North America

The company formerly named Iveco Motors of North America, Inc., proudly announces its new brand name, Fiat Powertrain Technologies of North America (hereinafter referred to as FPT NA), effective immediately. FPT NA is part of the Powertrain sector of the Fiat Group known as Fiat Powertrain Technologies S.p.A. (hereinafter referred to as FPT), which is wholly owned by Fiat S.p.A. FPT has restructured its North American offices in Carol Stream, IL to align itself for a successful launch of its new brand of engines throughout the power generation, marine and industrial sectors. Iveco Motors Diesel Engines Available in Henriques Yachts

Iveco Motors of North America, Inc., a Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT) company, proudly announces an agreement to supply their NEF 400, Cursor 550 and Cursor 770 diesel marine engines to Henriques Yachts, a full line of commercial, sport and recreational fishing boats. Through an agreement with Iveco Motors’ distributor, Mid-Atlantic Engine Supply Corporation (MAESCO), the company will distribute the three specific engines to Henriques Yachts for their full line of fishing boats, between 30-feet and 42-feet. The N60 ENT M40 (NEF 400) is the newest engine in IVECO MOTORS’ NEF family of marine engines. The NEF 400 is a 6-cylinder, 4-valves-per-cylinder in-line diesel engine equipped with a common rail fuel injection system.
