Hyundai, Transas Team to Develop IBS
The Electro Electric Systems Division of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, the major global shipbuilder, has chosen Transas as a cooperation partner for the joint development of the new Hyundai – Transas intelligent bridge system (HTIBS). According to the agreement, the new advanced HTIBS to be presented to the international commercial marine market will incorporate hardware and software elements from both manufacturers.
These will include the Hyundai Advanced Control and Integration System (ACONIS), Hyundai Intelligent Voyage Data Recorder (HiVDR) and Hyundai Intelligent Conning system (HiConning); the well-known Transas powerful new generation navigation and information system (Navi-Sailor 3000 ECDIS-I) and digital radar system (Navi-Radar 3000-I) with advanced chart and AIS functionality, which are key parts of Transas involvement.
The close collaboration between Hyundai and Transas at all stages of the project will ensure the development of technically advanced and fully customized solutions specially adapted to suit the needs of the particular customer. Other anticipated benefits from the Hyundai – Transas cooperation include enhanced system functionality; any language support; service support, including software and system upgrades; technical support and professional operator training programs for navigating personnel.

Hyundai and Transas will jointly develop the efficient and cost effective integrated bridge system, the use of which will bring a number of essential benefits to navigating personnel and will have a positive impact on improving ships’ overall operation and safety of navigation.
