Southbound vessel grounded in Suez Canal causes delays and tailbacks

A southbound vessel ran aground in the Suex Canal at 1430 local time today at KM 101, causing delays and tailbacks, advises Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS).

At present, 10 vessels are in a tailback behind the grounded ship, according to ISS.

Suez Canal Authority (SCA) tugs are currently trying to re-float the vessel to move the obstruction and enable southbound traffic to be cleared.
