CWind Endeavour joins CWind Charter Operation

CWind’s charter fleet is about to grow with the addition of another CTruk 20T workboat.

 

Named CWind Endeavour, during an informal ceremony in CTruk’s home town of Brightlingsea, Essex, this weekend, the new vessel is an innovative evolution of the original design, now using a modular three-section-pod comprising wheelhouse, accommodation pod and porch module.  This enhanced design offers even more operational flexibility as well as more options on increasing deck space. The 20T’s already have a well proven and well-documented versatility – one vessel on charter can do multiple tasks - and as CWind fleet director Dave Quested commented, ‘CWind Endeavour  represents the latest in cost-effective vessel design for both the construction and O&M phases of the offshore wind sector - capable of crew transfer, generator management, refuelling and numerous other tasks – all with one vessel”.

Part of CWind’s boat share scheme, CWind Endeavour is a joint venture with experienced local skipper Stuart Richardson. The scheme is designed to enable skippers/operators to part-invest in a CWind vessel and gain access to the growing wind farm industry with CWind managing the contracts and finances, through to the QHSE procedures. Speaking about his partnership with CWind, Stuart said, ‘“For the last year I have been keen to become involved in the offshore wind sector and joining the CWind boat share seemed to be a great way.  I am now co-owner of CTruk’s latest workboat - already proven in the sector, plus I am part of the larger CWind charter fleet with all its back up and systems.  I’m excited as we’re already to join another 20T MPC at Grimsby to work on the Lincs windfarm.”

CWind Endeavour will be immediately going to work with another 20T operating at the Lincs offshore wind farm on CWind projects.
