L-3 SAM Electronics to Supply Navigation System for Greek Luxury Yacht
L-3 SAM Electronics has been awarded a contract to provide its NACOS Platinum Automation Navigation Control System aboard Golden Yachts Ltd's O’Pari3.
Built at Lamda Nafs Shipyard, Greece, O’Pari3 is a new 72-meter, 1,166-gross-ton luxury megayacht that will be available for chartering after its planned April 2015 delivery date.
The NACOS Platinum navigation system consists of two IP radars linked via an Ethernet ring to three multifunction, multi-pilot workstations that combine ARPA radar, ECDIS and conning information displays, in addition to displays for automatic steering and voyage planning operations. The scope of supply will also include an Ecdispilot workstation for route and schedule planning, monitoring capabilities and a complete set of subsidiary sensors, as well as the provision of a full range of GMDSS communications equipment.
“We are extremely pleased to be selected to deliver NACOS Platinum for the well-known yacht construction company, Golden Yachts,” said Maik Stoevhase, senior vice president of L-3 MSI’s Automation, Navigation and Communication business. “This order is further testament to our continued commitment to supplying the world’s yacht business with the most technically superior solutions available.”
The ship’s control system will be completed using L-3’s MCS Platinum automated monitoring and control system, with approximately 820 data inputs remotely controlled from three multifunction displays and five duty alarm panels, as well as an integrated power management system to control two diesel generators and an emergency generator.
