Pieter Breugel Delivered to Vloot DAB
Scheepswerf van Os has delivered the outfitted Pieter Breugel to shipping company Vloot DAB. The ship will employed in the ferry service between Hoboken and Kruibeke, Belgium.
The vessel measures 28.65 x 9 meters, has a draft of 1.94 meters and is suitable for the transport of 240 passengers with or without bicycle. The Pieter Breugel is equipped with two Scania Di12 S9M diesel engines, two azimuth drives and two Stamford generator sets.
The hull of the ferry has been built elsewhere and supplied as owner’s delivery to be outfitted by Scheepswerf Hoebee of Dordrecht (also part of The Kooiman group). Involving the Group’s electro technical installation company, machinery shop, piping workshop, carpentry shop and AC & ventilation specialists, the outfitting has been accomplished within a limited time frame. The end result however can be looked at. Despite the older hull as starting point, the final level of finishing achieved, is line with what is expected from The Kooiman Group.
It also has been aimed for incorporating environmental friendly aspects into the outfitting. The ship is using sulfer poor fuel, is regaining heat from the diesel engine cooling water systems, has extensive insulation applied and has a wheelhouse provided with double glazed windows.
