Navy Renews SRA's Sealift Command IT Contract
SRA International, Inc. say they will continue to provide mission-critical support for the U.S. Department of the Navy’s Military Sealift Command (MSC) Information Technology (IT) Afloat Operations. The three-year contract is valued at $56 million, if all options are exercised.
MSC is responsible for a variety of missions, including the provision of strategic sealift for the Department of Defense, direct fleet support to the Navy combatant fleet, and conducting special missions involving the operation of ships for Department of Defense components. The MSC Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems (C4S) Directorate (N6) is responsible for MSC C4 systems, encompassing worldwide IT networks and communications.
Under the contract, SRA will support MSC N6 in providing technical support services for communications, navigation, electronic, networking, computer and telecommunications systems aboard the MSC worldwide fleet. Key responsibilities will include program management, infrastructure development and support for the Afloat Network Operations Center and the Back-Up Afloat Network Operations Center, logistics and warehouse support, and delivery of C4S training.
“The SRA team is proud to support the U.S. Navy and the Military Sealift Command through the delivery of critical IT services,” said Defense Group Senior Vice President George Batsakis. “Under this award, we continue our valuable partnership with MSC enabling operational communications for its high priority missions in the U.S. and around the globe.”
