Hubbell gets nod from PEMEX on Heater Contract
Hubbell Awarded Water Heater Contract For The PEMEX $78 Million Offshore Drilling Platform.
Hubbell Electric Heater Company, a leading manufacturer of Marine/Offshore qualified water heaters located in Stratford, CT, announced today that the company has been awarded the water heater contract for the habitation module for the latest offshore drilling platform owned by Mexico’s state run oil company PEMEX.
The $1M contract is for a fully integrated, skid based water heating and hot water distribution system, consisting of two 175 gallon stainless steel water heaters, one 1,100 gallon stainless steel storage tank, four pumps, and a fully automated control system. The complete package is over 25’ long, 8’ wide, 10’ high and weighs approx. 12,500 lbs.
The engineered packaged system is built to withstand the harsh saltwater environment of the Gulf of Mexico and will produce critical supply hot water for the 150 rig workers living in the habitation module on the drilling platform.
Construction for the skid based package is expected to begin March 2013, with a completion date of August 2013. Hubbell will also provide onshore and offshore training and commissioning services to support the specialized heating system.
