BMT Nigel Gee, a subsidiary of BMT Group, an international design, engineering and risk management consultancy, has announced expansion activity at its offices in Southampton to meet a large increase in design work. Operating across four principal market sectors, the naval architectural practice delivers design and engineering services for specialized vessels in the large yacht, commercial, defense and offshore energy markets.

John Bonafoux, Managing Director of BMT Nigel Gee said, “These are very exciting times for us with large, long term contracts that are driving a need for significant expansion in our design team. Work in both commercial and defense markets has remained strong, but it is the superyacht market in particular that is driving this expansion with new design orders for some of the world’s largest and most prestigious superyachts.

We now have a need to recruit experienced staff across naval architecture, structural, mechanical and outfit engineering disciplines and are looking for high caliber staff at all levels from design engineers to more senior staff that can help manage these large, complex design contracts.”

The planned expansion will also take the company beyond the size of their current offices and plans are in hand to extend their existing office space in Shamrock Quay.

Anyone interested in joining this industry leading company who has relevant working experience and is looking for an exciting career challenge must send their CV and any background information to [email protected]

Jobs available include project managers, naval architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers and outfit engineers.
