NavPlay, an innovative manufacturer of iPad apps for boaters, announced today its release of a new app designed specifically for American boaters – NavPlay US. Offering downloadable access to detailed NOAA vector maps, NMEA 2000 compatibility and WiFi-integration with onboard navigation and safety technologies, NavPlay US provides the tools needed to manage all aspect of yachting, right from an iPad, anywhere on a vessel.

A powerful, robust and easy-to-use navigation app, NavPlay US allows boaters to download, plan routes and navigate using NOAA vector charts from Aqua Map. Delivering crystal clear detail and ultra fast refresh rates, the advanced tiled Aqua Map technology gives users the opportunity to select the specific chart coverage needed, drastically reducing the disk space used by the application and time required to download upgrades. Boaters can also navigate using satellite maps when connected to internet and seamlessly share the details of their boating adventures.

Building on the groundbreaking features of NavPlay Classic to deliver a host of US-specific navigation functionality unseen in mobile navigation, the new app now incorporates both NMEA 2000 and WiFi access and control of vessel instruments, autopilot, alarms and AIS data for collision avoidance, to name a few. Leveraging the power of technology partnerships, NavPlay US also provides custom integration with Vesper Marine AIS transponders, allowing users to activate a Digital Selective Calling (DSC) call directly from the app, reducing the time required to communicate with other boats, as well as the ability to access directly to NMEA2000 data via the new WiFi-enabled DMK Box from DMK Yachts.

“We are very pleased to offer both the existing and exciting new functionality of our powerful application to the US boating market,” said Andrea Buralli, sales and marketing manager, NavPlay. “With a host of new capabilities designed specifically for the American boater, NavPlay US takes full advantage of the latest technologies to give our customers an unparalleled navigation package, all in a mobile format.”
