FAT Testing Complete for M/V George III Main Engines
Pasha Hawaii reports that factory acceptance testing (FAT) of the dual-fueled, MAN Diesel & Turbo ME-GI main engine has been completed for the M/V George III, the first of two 774-ft., U.S. Jones Act, LNG-fueled containerships being built at Keppel AmFELS in Brownsville, TX. The two âOhana Class ves-sels will join the Pasha Hawaii fleet, which provides service to the Hawaii/Mainland trade lane.Each ship will carry 2,525 TEUs at a sailing speed of 23 knots.

Mitsui (MES) has ordered 3 × SCR-HP (cluster 3) units in connection with the building of three 87,000-dwt bulk carriers for the Ocean 21 Holdings .Each ship is to be powered by a single MAN B&W 6S46ME-B8.5 low-speed engine delivering 9,900 kW at 84 rpm, and aspirated by an MAN TCA66 turbocharger. Importantly, the engines will meet IMO Tier III emission standards.
