Reefer Ship Catches Fire at Port of Wilmington
A fire broke out on board a refrigerated cargo ship at the Port of Wilmington, in Delaware, late Monday evening.The crew aboard the Dole containerized fruit carrier contacted U.S. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay at approximately midnight, reporting that an engine fire erupted shortly after leaving port.The vessel quickly activated its firefighting system, energizing a carbon dioxide system to flood the engine room and rob the fire of oxygen, and safely moored back to the pier.
James Fisher Sells Dive Support Vessel to Seamec
UK-based offshore services provider James Fisher and Sons has agreed to sell its dive support vessel [Subtech] Paladin.The company has sold the DSV to the Indian offshore services provider Seamec for $17.3 million."This announcement is in line with the Group's newly stated capital allocation policy to reduce leverage, in the short term, through the sale of non-core assets," James Fisher said.The 104 meters long vessel, previously known as Toisa Paladin was built by Kleven in 2008.

Maersk Orders 'World's First' Carbon-neutral Methanol Fueled Container Ship
Shipping giant Maersk said Thursday it had ordered a feeder vessel with a dual-engine technology enabling it to sail on either methanol or traditional very low Sulphur fuel.The feeder, for which Maersk says will be the world's first container vessel fueled by carbon-neutral methanol, will be 172 meters long and will sail in the network of Sealand Europe, a Maersk subsidiary, on the Baltic shipping route between Northern Europe and the Bay of Bothnia.
Delfin Asks for Another Year to Build Louisiana Floating LNG Project
U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) developer Delfin LNG asked federal energy regulators for a third extension until September 2022 to bring into service the onshore facilities of its proposed floating LNG export plant off the coast of Louisiana.The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in September 2017 authorized Delfin to build its project by September 2019.In June 2019, Delfin asked FERC for an extension to finish the project until March 2023.

HMM Orders Twelve 13,000 TEU Container Ships from DSME, HHI
South Korean shipping company HMM has ordered twelve new 13,000 TEU container ships, from its compatriot shipbuilders Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).
