Crew Vessel Contracted to Shell
UK-based crew transfer specialist High Speed Transfers (HST) announced that its second new high-speed crew transfer vessel HST Sofia will be contracted by Shell to support its exploration program in the Black Sea commencing March 2019.The FCS 2710 vessel, built by Dutch shipbuilder Damen, will be trialed by HST to undertake oil and gas crew transfers to support the Noble Globetrotter II drill ship.
Havila Kystruten, Kongsberg Ink Long-term Service Deal
Havila Kystruten and Kongsberg have signed a 10-year “Power-by-the-Hour” service agreement for four new coastal cruise vessels that are currently under construction. The contract value is 150 million kroner ($17.5 million).Power-by-the-Hour was launched in 2017, and was first sold to the cargo operator NorLines the same year. The agreement means that the vessel owner is handing the responsibility for service planning and performance back to the equipment’s supplier, Kongsberg Maritime.
Wärtsilä to Equip Knutsen LNG Carrier
Wärtsilä said it will provide an integrated propulsion and cargo handling solution for a new 30,000-cubic-meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier being built at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) in South Korea on behalf of Norway based Knutsen OAS Shipping.Under a 12-year long term charter, the vessel, expected to be delivered during the first half of 2021, will be operated by Knutsen and chartered to Edison S.p.A, an Italian energy services provider.
