Wärtsilä reports it has achieved a new tech benchmark with the introduction of a hybrid installation for a bulk carrier, reportedly a maritime first.The system will be installed on the M/V Paolo Topic, a bulk carrier built at Onomichi Dockyard in Japan and managed by Marfin Management S.A.M. Conrad to Build 'MiNO 6000' Towboat
MiNO Marine LLC said the second vessel based on its new 6000 hp inland towboat design has been contracted for and production will begin soon at Conrad Amelia Shipyard. The MiNO 6000 Class Towboat design is a modern, Subchapter M compliant vessel measuring 166 x 49 ft. with a 12-ft. depth.The towboat will be propelled by a pair of conventional propellers within Kort nozzles each driven by a 3000 hp, Tier IV compliant engine.
