MPI Enterprise Fitted with Spudcans
MPI Offshore’s wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) MPI Enterprise has recently been upgraded with spudcans. The spudcans, which were installed during a drydocking in Rotterdam, increase the load-bearing area when the vessel is jacked up. This, in turn, minimizes penetration of the vessel’s legs into the seabed when working offshore. MPI Enterprise is the newest addition to the company’s WTIV fleet.
Crowley Acquires Three SeaRiver Tankers
Crowley Alaska Tankers, LLC, has completed its acquisition of three tankers from SeaRiver Maritime Inc. and is now chartering the vessels back to SeaRiver under varying multi-year terms.The tankers Liberty Bay and Eagle Bay, now under Crowley ownership and operation and renamed Washington and California respectively, each have a capacity of 760,000 barrels and transport crude from Alaska to West Coast refineries.

Sener's FORAN Scores in Boxship Design
SENER said that two container ships designed by the Chinese company CIMC ORIC – that are part of a series designed with SENER’s FORAN System – are in operation. BG Diamond and BG Jade that have been launched and are operating in the Pacific Ocean. The vessels were built in Chinese Changhong International Shipyard. The floating ceremony of the first one, BG Diamond, took place in July 2017. The series include 4+4 vessels in total, so there are still six vessels under construction.
