Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Group (LDA) said it has ordered a wind farm service operation vessel (SOV) from Cemre shipyard in Turkey. The vessel will be delivered in Q4 2018 and chartered to DONG Energy Wind Power A/S for operations at four wind farms off the German coast (Borkum Riffgrund 1&2, Gode Wind 1&2). The vessel has been designed in cooperation with Salt Ship Design to enable technicians to perform maintenance on wind turbines.

Two Offshore Vessels Join DOF Fleet
The DOF Group said a Norwegian limited company not owned by DOF has signed an agreement with Olympic Shipping to purchase two vessels, Olympic Commander and Olympic Hera. DOF and the new owner have entered into an agreement for management and operation of the two vessels, and DOF has an option to purchase the vessels at a price corresponding to the outstanding debt or approximately 50-60 percent of historical build costs. Fleet Cleaner Completes Its First Job
Dutch company Fleet Cleaner said it has completed its first hull cleaning trial in December 2016 in the Dutch port of Den Helder, using a robot to clean the hull of HNLMS Karel Doorman, the largest vessel of the Royal Netherlands Navy. Fleet Cleaner deployed a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to remove fouling on the vessel’s hull – both under- and above-water. Due to loading and unloading, up to 20 percent of the fouled surface can be above the waterline in port.

Rodolphe Saadé is the new chief executive of container shipping line CMA CGM, taking over the role previously held by his 80-year-old father. The top spot at CMA CGM Group has been passed from one generation to another. Jacques Saadé announced on his 80th birthday that his son Rodolphe Saadé would take over as the French shipping line’s next chief executive officer. SBM Offshore Raises Dividend
Dutch oil-ship lessor SBM Offshore's full-year core profit (EBITDA) jumped 67 percent, driven by growth in its Lease and Operate business, the company said on Wednesday. SBM, which has been seeking a settlement after being accused of paying bribes to executives of state-controlled oil company Petrobras, reported an EBITDA of $772 million for 2016. Revenue fell 16 percent to $2.27 billion. Analysts polled by Reuters had on average expected revenue of $2.06 billion and EBITDA of $729 million.
