An inspection of one of two main engines on a U.S. inland waterways vessel revealed that ExxonMobil’s Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5W-40 diesel engine oil provided outstanding protection and cleanliness for a Cummins KTA38 marine diesel main engine after nine years of continuous use. Bollinger Shipyards said it has delivered the Fast Response Cutter (FRC) USCGC Oliver Berry to the U.S. Coast Guard on June 27, 2017 in Key West, Fla. The vessel’s commissioning is scheduled for October 2017 in Honolulu. The 154-foot patrol craft USCGC Oliver Berry is the 24th vessel in the Coast Guard's Sentinel-class FRC program. To build the FRC, Bollinger used an in-service parent craft design based on the Damen Stan Patrol Boat 4708.

Maersk Booking System Back In Action after Cyber Attack
Maersk Line, one of the world's largest container shipping companies, said on Wednesday its cargo booking system was back up and running after a global cyber attack crippled its IT networks a day earlier. "Further to earlier communications, we are now able to accept bookings via INTTRA," the company said on Twitter. Earlier, Maersk said it was using alternative channels to take orders manually and to communicate with customers until it could resolve its IT problems.
Lloyd’s Register Helps Seafarers in Need
Lloyd’s Register (LR) has donated £20,000 to Sailors’ Society’s Emergency Welfare Fund which provides financial relief to seafarers and their families in dire need. Every year, maritime charity Sailors’ Society is inundated with requests for support from seafarers with diverse and pressing welfare needs. This is the seventh year running that LR has donated to the fund, bringing its total contribution to more than £140,000.

Marine navigation technology company C-MAP announced that Sean Fernback has been engaged as Chief Executive Officer of Digital Marine Solutions Holding AS and the C-MAP Group. Most recently, Fernback was CEO of the open platform locations company HERE, which he led for two years including managing its divestiture from parent company Nokia.
