Fisherman Rescued from Capsizing Vessel [Video]
A U.S. Coast Guard aircrew from Air Facility Newport rescued a man from a capsized boat about a mile west of Devil’s Punchbowl State Park, Monday morning. The aircrew safely hoisted the man aboard the MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and transported him to the Air Facility in good condition. A video is available here. “He was wearing his lifejacket when the boat capsized and that allowed him to stay above the surface and then climb onto the boat,” said Lt. j.g. Dustin Brecher, Dolphin helicopter pilot.

Reservoirs are notoriously tricky to maintain: from the surrounding area plenty of sand and silt is brought in by the river and the material deposits at the dam. As reservoirs are usually rather deep, dredging can be quite a challenge. For the Tablachaca dam in Peru another challenge was added; the location high up in the Andes required a modular dredger due to transport restrictions. The DOP Dredger proved to be the perfect solution, according to its builder.

Kelvin Hughes is to supply its SharpEye S-band radar together with its new 12kW radar for 17 patrol boats currently being built at ARES Shipyard, Turkey for Qatar’s Coast and Borders Security Department. Norwegian Archipelago Services has bought a second ProZero workboat. The vessel was sold by Tuco Marine in Denmark in close cooperation with Tuco’s Norwegian partner Provide Maritime A/S and was commissioned by Holmestrand Municipality for the Archipelago service. Oceana Yard’s First Newbuild Delivered
The new Oceana shipyard in Itajai, Brazil has delivered its first newbuild, a platform supply vessel of the PX105 design from Ulstein Group. The vessel was delivered to shipowner Oceana Offshore on March 30, 2016, and on April 1, the vessel started on a six-year chart for Petrobras. A sister vessel is also under construction at the yard, and is scheduled for completion within the end of Q2 this year.

The Northwest Seaport Alliance, a marine cargo operating partnership of the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, announced that its managing members have approved $141 million worth of construction and cranes to dock two of the largest containerships simultaneously at Husky Terminal in the South Harbor.
