Royal IHC Upgrades Three CSDs for NMDC
National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) of Abu Dhabi, a dredging contractor in the Middle East and key player in the creation of the new Suez Canal, has granted Royal IHC an order to upgrade the automation of three heavy-duty cutter suction dredgers (CSDs). The Al Sadr, Al Mirfa and Kattouf were built by Royal IHC between 1999-2001, and were equipped with the then latest versions of IHC DPM (dredge profile monitor) and ACC (automatic cutter controller).
DOF Secures New Work in the North Sea
DOF Group subsidiary DOF Rederi AS has signed an agreement with Nexen Petroleum UK for Skandi Marstein, MT 6000 design Platform Supply Vessel (PSV). The contract will start in May and is firm until end 2017. DOF Rederi has further signed a three months contract, plus options with Maersk Oil North Sea UK Ltd. for Skandi Gamma with start up in April.
Heinrich Ahlers Retires from Buss Group
Heinrich Ahlers has wrapped-up his remaining responsibilities at the Buss Group, and will begin his retirement shortly before his 65th birthday. He had already relinquished his role as CEO of Buss Port Logistics to his successor Marco Neelsen October 1, 2015. “I am pleased to see that Marco Neelsen quickly and efficiently adapted to his new tasks, and that he was very well received by the port and logistics network,” Ahlers said. “Therefore, it is time for me to retire from the Buss Group.

Austal has welcomed the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (CRNO), Rear-Admiral (RADM) Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah Al Raisi to the company’s Australian shipyard in Henderson, Western Australia, to officially name two 72 meter High Speed Support Vessels (HSSVs) designed and built by Austal for the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO).
