Third Post Panamax RoRo Joins WWL Fleet
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) has introduced MV Theben, a brand new High Efficiency RoRo (HERO) class vessel, and third of eight new Post Panamax vessels to be launched from 2015-2017. Theben joins her sister vessels Thalatta and Thermopylae in the line of RoRo vessels taking advantage of the new vessel size limit based on the third set of Panama Canal locks expected to commence operation in June this year.
Kongsberg Tech Package for Sweden’s New Subs
The Swedish Navy together with SAAB Kockums AB has selected an active sonar suite and bottom navigation technology from Kongsberg Maritime for installation on two next generation A26 submarines, which are due for delivery no later than 2022. The contract was awarded through a competitive international tender process and follows a 2015 contract win covering similar systems for two Swedish Navy A19 submarines.
