Evergreen to Charter 11 Containerships
Evergreen Group signed time charter agreements with Shoei Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (Shoei) to charter a total of 11 18,000 TEU vessels, which include the six units of the same capacity announced by Evergreen Marine Corp. (EMC) and its subsidiary last December. The charter parties were signed by EMC's Chairman Anchor Chang and Shoei's President Yukito Higaki. The ships are planned to be delivered from 2018 through 2019.

International Sulphur Campaign Launched
An international information campaign on the new, stricter sulphur requirements and their enforcement will be launched in February and, at the same time, cooperation between the so-called SECA countries is further strengthened, Tthe Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) announced. Port of Redwood City Sees Cargo Increase
The Port of Redwood City experienced a five percent increase in cargo movement across its docks for the first half of fiscal year 2014/2015 that ended December 31, 2015. Imported sand and aggregates accounted for 691,276 metric tons (MT), or nearly 79 percent of the tonnage for the first half of the fiscal year. This was nearly eight percent more than the same period last fiscal year. These products are used in Silicon Valley and Redwood City construction projects.
