Originating from an offshore design platform, Ulstein Group presents its Discovery Series concept, which includes three different vessels in the exploration, cruising and coastal patrolling categories. “70 percent of Earth’s surface is covered by oceans. 80 percent of the ocean is deeper than 3,000 meters. Rotterdam-based law firm AKD says a recent revision of the Brussels I Regulation makes it possible to quickly attach assets anywhere in the EU if parties include in their contracts a choice of forum clause conferring jurisdiction on the Rotterdam court. The Brussels 1 Regulation provides uniform rules throughout the EU on international jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of civil and commercial judgments.

DNV GL, Jotun Cooperate on Hull Performance
DNV GL and the Norwegian paint manufacturer Jotun signed a cooperation agreement to work on improving hull performance at Nor-Shipping today. The project will bring together two performance management services, Jotun’s Hull Performance Solution and DNV GL’s ECO Insight solution, to collect and analyse data on hull degradation. Second 18,000TEU Ship Joins CMA CGM Fleet
The 18,000 TEU capacity containership the CMA CGM Georg Forster was delivered to the CMA CGM Group on June, 2 in South Korea. With its 1,305 ft. (398m) length and 177 ft. (54m) width, the CMA CGM Georg Forster is the group’s second 18,000 TEU capacity vessel to be delivered. Six vessels will compose this series of vessels named after great explorers, that will have the CMA CGM Group’s largest containership capacity. This gigantic vessel has a 18,000 TEU (twenty feet equivalent) capacity.
