Radio Holland Awarded Remote Monitoring Agreement
Radio Holland, part of the newly formed company RH Marine Group, has been awarded a Remote Monitoring Agreement from The China Navigation Company (CNCo). Under the new agreement, Radio Holland will install VDR Remote Interface on board three more CNCo vessels (Coral Chief, Highland Chief and New Guinea Chief). The company’s decision to place these three vessels under a Remote Monitoring Agreement follows a successful pilot scheme on its multipurpose vessel, the Papuan Chief.
New Chinese Regulations for SOx Emissions
China’s Ministry of Transport has published new regulations introducing sulphur (SOx) emission control requirements within three Ship Emission Control Areas (ECAs): Pearl River Delta (PRD), Chang Jiang Delta (CJD) and Bohai Rim (BR). These ECAs are not designated under MARPOL Annex VI. The geographical boundaries of the three ECAs are shown in the images at the end of this Class News. ‘Core ports’ have been designated within them.

RINA Group Delivers Ballast Water Management Guidance
International classification society RINA has completely revised and updated its guidance on the Ballast Water Convention and the procurement, installation, operation and certification of Ballast Water Treatment Systems. The guidance is now available to shipowners, shipyards and equipment manufacturers as a Technical Bulletin.
