ROV Winch Supplied for Antarctica Expedition
Antarctica expedition benefits from a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) winch supplied by MacArtney Underwater Technology. An icebreaking polar supply and research vessel is to map out underwater conditions in the icy waters in terms of subsurface and marine life. The winch system, which was acquired through Swedish SubSea Solutions on the part of University of Gothenburg, will be put to good use on board South African icebreaking polar supply and research vessel S.
“Green” Inland Midstream Refuel Barge Delivered
John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC is taking delivery of its first “green” inland midstream refueling barge from Tres Palacios Marine in Palacios, Texas. The 160 x 54-ft. double hull barge is the latest addition to the fleet of equipment Stone Oil uses to support its customer base as well as its various terminal operations. Stone Oil discussed ways to improve the existing midstream fuel barge design with its marine personnel as well as its shore based maintenance staff.
Containers Overboard off Florida
Multiple containers have fallen into the sea from a barge off the coast between Port Canaveral, Fla., and West Palm Beach, Fla., Sunday.
